Dinosaur National Monument
The Dinosaur National Monument and Quarry are minutes away. The
Quarry is the only one of its kind in the world. Visitors can watch
paleontologists remove fossils in a 3-story glass building attached to a
mountain. Always a favorite with the kids is Dinosaur Gardens, only a mile from the campground with 15 life-size dinosaurs set in their
natural surroundings.
The Green River and Flaming Gorge Dam
Fish the Green River at 'Little Hole' below Flaming Gorge Dam,
considered the best fly-fishing and river rafting in the U.S! Hiking,
walking and biking trails stretch like a web through our stunning
scenery where petroglyphs from the past, and deer, elk and wild horses
from the present, seem to be around every bend. Choose our high desert
to the south or the Unita forests and mountains to the north; either
will offer excellent uncrowded adventures for fishermen, rock hounds, or
people who just want to get away from it all.
